Exotic Food… Sursurbot
It was a bad idea, i know it, to taste this kind of food. Ket agpayso, pinagsakitna piman ti tianko. Nakaro nga apges.
It woke me up, i think, around 1 am becuase the pain in my stomach was incredible. Diak kabaelan, kasapulan nga innak iruar, no ania man daytoy.
Ania ti gapuna aya ti panagsakit ti tianko. And I thought of this little kind of meat or species that my father-in-law brought into my house and made it as a ‘pulotan’.
The sinigang was tasty and delicious… i love it. Though i don’t like the ‘kilawen’, I have to taste it for my curiosity. Naa, mariknak ti ranetret iti kudilna.. dagiti ngay darat ngata nga inpaunegna.
Ania daytoy… it is called by locals in San Esteban, Ilocos Sur as ’sursurbot’.
Maala daytoy babaen iti panangkali iti darat a nagtubuan ti ruot ti baybay no lowtide. When hightide, ngamin, nakakali daytoy iti darat. Masapul a kalyen ti darat a naparabawan ti ruot tapno maalam daytoy.
It is dark in color (look at the picture), I compare the size to a chiz curls of childrens favorite chitchiria.
And yeah, it is an exotic food. Never once in my life I have taste it. Its only now.
Apay a nagsakit ti tianko, saan sa a gapu iti sursurbot… no di ket iti kudilna… ngamin, uray korita a babassit ket agsakit ti tianko uray maysa nga ilgat laeng ti kanek.
Do I taste it again… yes of course.
