It is also called nose flute because it can be played through mouth or nose.  It is made from the smooth variety of bamboo. Its thickness is alike to thumb of a person.  It has 5 holes.  You have to put your fingers here to have the soothing sound.

 

 

            This musical instrument belongs to Itneg, Bago and Kankanaey Tribe.  They played a song here as lullaby. It is also used when a boy court a girl during the old times.

            When played using the nose, cotton will be place in one of the nose.  They say, it is more soothing when played by nose.

  1. it is made from bamboo called bolo, it is made in upland municipalities of ilocandia. You can buy it during tribal festivals of ilocandia, and maybe in Baguio City.
