Ti Vigan City… the UNESCO World Heritage City in the Philippines is celebrating its 10th year as a city and the traditional Feast of Conversion of St. Paul.
The occasion is the year opener of year round activities that includes Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts everysummer; the procession of life-size saints and carrozas and visita Iglesa of Semana Santa; World Heritage Cities Solidarity Day every 8th day of September; Raniag, The Vigan City Twilight Festival during All Saints Day; and Artes De P[ascua, Lantern and Torch Parade as their way of celebrating christmas.
Okay 10D11 activities are as follows: Siglat ti Ilocandia Variety Show at Plaza Burgos; DZNS Night; Education Night.
January 22 marked as special day for Vigan as they celebrate the 10th Foundation Year of Vigan Cityhood. Highlights are Longanisa Cook Fest Showdown, Longanisa Streetdancing (parade route), Longanisa Streetdancing Showdonw (Plaza Burgos), and Coronation Night.
January 23 is Balikatan and Agriculture Day- an agri-float parade and contest will be done, Vigan City Farm Festival, and Launching of Disaster Survival and First Air Handbook.
Succeding activities are as follows: Metro Vigan Dance Sports Club Ballroom Night and Balik Vigan Night, Ms Vigan, ABC Night and Cooperative Night, SK, Gay Parade, DWRS Night, and Bisikleta para sa Dekada.
Babae ng Digmaan, a zarzuela show depicting the love story of Adela and Fujiro that save Vigan from the hands of Japanese soldier during world war 2.
With a theme: Dekada ti Panagtitimpuyog ti Napudno a Panagserbi… as Mayor Eva Marie Medina said: “Umaykayon ditoy Vigan!”
