Starting the New Year right by doing the right things and doing things right, Region 1 Police Director Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix reminded all his personnel on the importance of good moral and ethics especially in doing their service as Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) observed the PNP’s 21st Ethics Day Celebration on Monday.
The celebration with a theme: “PNP, leading the Right Path Towards Credible and Noble Service” was spearheaded by Bishop Rodolfo S. Beltran, Bishop of San Fernando, La Union as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
In his message, the Bishop stressed that police authority is conceived not only as enforcement of laws for the attainment of its objectives but most especially it is seen as service.
“Service is the other experience of love and ethics this is what challenges our youth and policemen today to be a leader in the name of service and ethics is concerned with good and evil,” Bishop Beltran added.
Bishop Beltran also cited and thanked the PRO1 for depicting an honest and ethical leadership and selfless service to the people of Region 1.
In line with the celebration, Bishop Beltran also led the conferment of awards to Police Superintendent Heintje L. Cañete, Chief, Regional Chaplain Service 1, Police Officer 3 (PO3) Levi C. Laguesma and PO3 Resty S. Agayo for their invaluable services and immeasurable sacrifices in delivering spiritual enhancement to the men and women of PRO1.
Meanwhile, a total of 519 new Police Officer 1 (PO1) for National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) took their oath and administered by PCSUPT Felix after the 21st Ethics Day Celebration. A total of 650 quota allocated for NCRPO for Calendar Year 2014 PO1 Regular Recruitment Program were recruited here in PRO1, however 519 passed the screening process.###
