Ilocos Sur. Governor Ryan Singson led the boodle fight having different dishes from chicken meat and eggs assuring it is safe to eat them which also participated by different sectors held in provincial capitol last August 21.
The governor is with provincial vice governor Jerry Singson and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members of 1st and 2nd district of Ilocos Sur together with NMIS, Agriculture office and the chicken raisers and chicken meat vendors.
The move is to prove that it’s safe to eat the chicken meat and eggs in this province and it’s free from bird’s flu which is affecting central Luzon and other parts of the country.
Governor also intensified in guarding the quarantine checkpoint of the entrance and exit points of the province securing no chicken meat from affected areas may enter the market of the province.
Lydia Bugasto, chicken meat vendor of Candon City was happy with the move of Governor Singson because it brings back the trust and confidence of the people to buy chicken meat.
“We are affected, the numbers of buyers decline.” She said.
She also assured that the poultry they are selling are free from bird’s flu because it came from local chicken raisers.
Despite the bird’s flu scare the price here remains at P160 per kilo.###
