PRO1 Receives Gold Eagle Award; Now PGS Proficient

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- Region 1 Police Director Chief Superintendent Charlo C. Collado together with the Command Group and Regional Advisory Council (RAC) received the “Gold Eagle Award” in  fulfilling the Proficiency Stage of the PNP PRO1 Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding of the Rule of Law (P.A.T.R.O.L.) Plan 2030 during the Conferment of PGS “Proficient” Status held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame.

PCSUPT Collado stressed his elation for another achievement and he considers this as one step farther in the journey of PRO1 transformation. “Garnering this award is not mine to take; this is an achievement of every personnel of PRO1 who hardly worked to make this transformation a reality for Region 1 police.” he said.

The Regional Director also thanked the PRO1 RAC for their support and contribution to PRO1 and vowed to continue what PRO1 has started and strengthen the PNP’s resolve to fight criminality and ensure safety of the community through the strict implementation of Project Double Barrel: Reloaded and compliance to the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030.

“As we fulfill the proficiency level at its gold stage, I encourage everyone to keep the fire burning and let us again work together to surpass the challenges of the last stage which is the Institutionalization,” PCSupt. Collado added.

A Gold Eagle Award is being conferred to a PNP unit with an overall rating of 95 to 100 percent in certain stage of the PNP Performance Governance System (PGS).

The PNP PGS has four stages that include initiation, compliance, proficiency and institutionalization with the end-purpose of addressing organizational dysfunctions identified by studies and improve the quality of the delivery of police services in the country. It also aims to strengthen law enforcement capabilities and to enhance the welfare and benefits of PNP personnel.

In the proficiency evaluation process, the Strategic Readiness Test, Performance Audit and Unit Revalida were conducted focusing on the alignment of the whole organization to the strategy. (pnpregion1)

PNP Region 1 Bags Award as Best PRO Nationwide

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – Police Chief Superintendent Charlo C. Collado, PRO1’s (Police Regional Office 1) Regional Director recently received an award in Camp Crame after PRO1 was adjudged as the “Best Police Regional Office” for garnering the highest score in a nationwide search in celebration of the 116th Police Service Anniversary.

PCSupt. Collado said, the award is a manifestation of PRO1’s culture of excellence and a source of pride for PRO1 personnel, from the highest down to the lowest level.

“I commend all for their dedicated service to the people of Region 1, and I thank also the Local Government Units, various government agencies, non-government organizations and other sectors of the community for their indispensable contribution in helping PRO1 achieved this exceptional feat,” the Regional Director added.

Meanwhile, the Vigan City Police Station in Ilocos Sur under the leadership of PSupt. Marlo A. Castillo was also adjudged as Best Component City Police Station nationwide. Senior Police Officer 2 Harold V. Nicolas of Laoag City Police Station and Police Officer 2 Jhan Lay P. Apostol of San Nicolas Police Station both in Ilocos Norte were also awarded as Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations and Best Junior PNCO for Operations, respectively.

The awarding was done in a fitting ceremony at the PNP National Headquarters during the 116th Police Service Anniversary Celebration on August 9, 2017 wherein President Rodrigo R. Duterte served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.(pnpregion1)

The Ilocos Region is one of the areas in the country mostly frequented by typhoons. These natural disasters have been causing adverse effects to families and communities in the region.
This is reason why the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office I (OWWA RWOI took various activities to join the nation in  the observance of the 2015 National Disaster Consciousness Month (NDCM) with the theme, “Pamilya at Pamayanang Handa, Katuwang sa Pag-unlad ng Bansa.”
Officers and staff of the OWWA RWOI sat on a two-hour lecture on “Disaster Preparedness and Basic Emergency Response” at the Regional Welfare Office I,. The lecture was given by Mr. Benedick C. Sarmiento of the La Union Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. Some walk-in clients have also joined the lecture after their transactions were made.

Bicycle Riders Ride To Campaign Vigan

The riders travel to Vigan City at around 7AM

More than 500 bicycle riders and enthusiasts travel to Vigan City as part of their campaign and promotion in the New 7 Wonder Cities of the World.

The riders lead by Board Member Nestor Itchon advocates the promotion by also voting Vigan City. On December 7, the final 7 cities will be named from the existing 14 cities of the world in the final voting. Vigan is the lone entry of the Philippines and is contending strong.

In an interview, Itchon said more than 500 riders from Ilocos Sur will participate in the initiative. One group will be coming from Candon City and they will merge in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur and will convoy to Vigan City. The second group will be coming from 1st district of Ilocos Sur.

This is not the first time the riders ride for campaign. Last week, the same group travel from Candon City to Lingayen, Pangasinan for the same purpose.

Vigan City, including the cities of Barcelona Spain, Beirut Lebanon, Chicago USA, Doha Qatar, Durban South Africa, Havana Cuba, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, La Paz Bolivia, London United Kingdom, Mexico City Mexico, Perth Australia, Quito Ecuador and Reykjavik Iceland will vie for Top 7 this December.
